Abstract

1,133,911. Making sheets. NORDDEUTSCHE AFFINERIE. 10 May, 1967 [12 May, 1966], No. 21813/67. Heading B3A. [Also in Division C7] A method of detaching electrolytically deposited sheet material from a base member, wherein the base member which carries the deposited sheet material on each side, is flexed without reducing the cross-section of the sheet material, by passing the assembly through a roller bending machine having at least three rolls. The base member 5 with deposited material 6 adhering to each side is passed between the rollers 1 and 2 of a bending machine. The rollers 1 are driven and the rollers 2 are adjustable thrust rollers. An idle straightening roller 7 is provided at the exit side of the pass. The material is brought to, and removed from, the roll pass by conveyers 3 and 4 respectively. By flexing the sheets within their elastic limit no additional straightening operation is subsequently necessary, but to ensure reliable separation it is preferable to flex the sheets beyond their elastic limit.
