Abstract

952,420. Tables. W. HANDS & SONS Ltd. Feb. 1, 1963 [Feb. 21, 1962], No. 6756/62. Heading A4H. A table having a rectangular top 13 With segmented flaps 14 hinged to its edges is provided with means for supporting the flaps 14 to be coplanar with the top 13 and means for retaining the folded down flaps 14 against the underside of the top 13. A bar 17 is slidably mounted in a groove 18 in the underside of the top 13 such that it may either be extended to engage a central groove 19 in the flap 14 to support the latter or retracted to permit downward hinging of the flap 14 to be retained against the underside of the top 13 by a spring clip, turnbuckle or like means 16. The slide bar 17 is provided with a locking bolt having a handle head 24 by means of which it is locked in the extended position.
