Abstract

950,166. Side or end gates for platform vehicles. A. T. VAN HUET. July 27, 1962 [March 17, 1962], No. 28988/62. Heading B7B. The stanchions 5 of a platform vehicle are removably mounted in sockets 4 secured to the chassis 3 and they are grooved longitudinally to accommodate pins 10 welded to the upper edges of side flaps 9, so that when the locating pins 14 on the lower edges of the side flaps 9 are disengaged from the chassis members 1 the flaps may be lowered clear of the loading platform 2 until the pins 10 rest in grooves 15 in the sockets 4. This allows a loading device having rollers which engage the channels 1 to move the full length of the platform 2.
