Abstract

1,260,161. Loading and unloading trailers. LOGGING SYSTEMS Inc. 27 Jan., 1969 [23 Feb., 1968], No. 4465/69. Heading B8E. Logs L, Figs. 5, 6, or other elongate members, are loaded on to a trailer 122, Fig. 1, from a log storage and loading bunk 10 by extending the side members 22, 24 of the bunk, and with them cross-members 52, 53, Fig. 5, which support the logs, so that the trailer 122 may be backed under the load, after removing side stakes 136 to the position shown in Figs. 5, 6. The logs are now lowered on to the trailer by lowering the side and cross-members 22, 24, 52, 53, and the cross-members are pivoted through 90 degrees to lie longitudinally of the bunk 10, so that they do not foul the trailer as it is drawn out. The logs are loaded on to the bunk 10 by conventional means and the trailer 122, Fig. 1, is unloaded from the towing vehicle 20 by a 7 folding hoist 121, shown erected in Fig. 2 (not shown). The side members 22, 24 of the bunk 10 are raised and lowered by single or double-acting hydraulic rams. Road wheels 12 of the bunk 10 are raised and lowered by rams. Side members 22, 24 are adjustable along the length of a connecting member 14.
