950,093. Automatic load control. HENRY SIMON Ltd. Nov. 6, 1961 [Nov. 22,1960], No. 40136/60. Heading G3R. In a feed arrangement from a mixing machine to a processing machine a by-pass flap is opened to divert a portion of the material being fed to the processing machine when the current to the driving motor of the processing machine exceeds a predetermined value. In the current control system shown, a secondary 16 of a current transformer is coupled to a supply line to a threephase motor 4 driving the processing machine. The secondary voltage is rectified and smoothed and applied to a stabilizing valve 21 in series with a resistor 20 and a shunting potentiometer 19. The components 19-21 form a bridge the balance of which is adjusted by a slider 23. Increase of motor current above a predetermined valve cause the bridge to become unbalanced and apply a negative bias to a control grid of a pentode 22 to de-energize a relay R/1 to energize a motor 8, to open a flap-valve, not shown, until a switch 15 is actuated at the limit of travel of the flap-valve. When the relay is energized the motor 8 closes the flap valve until a limit-switch 14 is opened.
