Abstract

1,232,513. Drag line scrapers. ZYKLOS METALLBAU K.G. DIPL. ING KARL HAEGELE. 6 May, 1969 [14 May, 1968], No. 23026/69. Heading B8E. [Also in Division E1] The electrical control circuit of an automatically regulated, cyclically operable drag line scraper system for a batching plant has a contact that controls the scraper bucket haulage motor 10 of the system in dependence upon the resistance encountered by the scraper bucket to its passage. Preferably the contact 52 is a relay the coil 35 of which is traversed by current proportional to the current supplied to the motor and is associated with a resistance 38, 41-45 of fixed or variable value, said resistance being connected in parallel with the coil 35 by a contact 39 of the relay when the relay is energized. The variable resistance allows of appropriate adjustment of the circuit control factors when the system is to handle more than one material as in a batching plant when sectorarranged storages boxes are to be filled with different materials. Preferably the contact causes reversal of the motor 10 immediately the scraper bucket breaks out of the top of material after having passed through the material. Switches 53, 54 are so connected in parallel with the contact 52 as to bridge the contact to allow entry of the bucket into the material. A limit switch 32 prevents overtravel of the bucket at the upper permissible limit of its travel.
