1283245 Control of A.C. motors HERBERT MORRIS Ltd 15 Oct 1970 [21 Oct 1969] 51459/69 Heading H2J A hoist block is driven by a motor M associated with a brake B which is applied when its coil is de-energized. During hoisting operation, relays m and D operate to energize the brake and the motor simultaneously over contacts B<SP>1</SP> and c<SP>1</SP>. When the load is to be lowered, relay D is initially energized to release the brake and contacts d close after a time delay to energize relay m<SP>1</SP> and energize the motor over contacts c<SP>2</SP>.
