Abstract
1,229,461. Protective arrangements. MESSERSCHMITT-BOLKOW-BLOHM G.m.b.H. 26 April, 1968 [26 April, 1967], No. 17335/68. Heading H2K. Apparatus for monitoring an electrical supply system in an airborne or space vehicle, comprising means 17, 18, 19, 20, 30 for deriving signals which are analogues of the current from a generator 10 and the various voltages of the system, means 40, 41 for providing respective binary signals when the analogue signals exceed threshold values, a unit 50 for processing the binary signals to determine the nature of a fault condition, and switching means 60 controlled by the unit 50 and operative when a fault occurs to perform corrective switching operations to enable the supply system to remain in operation or to shut down the entire system when supply is impossible. The switching means 60 may effect the opening of various contactors, e.g. 11, or a bus-coupler 14. It may control the excitation of the generator 10 or the connection of an alternative supply.
