1285736 Automatic proportioning control VYZKUMNY USTAV STAVEBNICH HMOT V BRNE 1 Oct 1969 [24 Oct 1968] 48340/68 Heading G3R The output of a grinding mill is supplied to a classifier and the ratio of the coarse to fine output or the ratio of the coarse or fine output to input of the classifer is used to control the rate of feed of raw material to the mill. In Fig.2, a device 12 controls the rate of feed of fresh material, e.g. cement, to a grinding mill 14 which includes a classifier (not shown) to produce an output of fine material J and return coarse material H to the mill input. The ratio of the rates of flow of coarse and fine material is measured at 17 and compared with a desired rate of flow, set at 20, so that any difference is effective through a proportional and integral regulator 10 and a proportional regulator 11 to eliminate error by automatically controlling at 12 the rate of feed of fresh material to the mill. A control term dependent on the difference between the rate of feed of fresh material and the rate of flow of fine material is produced at 18 and applied to the input of PI regulator 10. A further term, dependent on the sum of the rate of feed of fresh material and the rate of flow of coarse material is produced at 19 and applied to the input of P regulator 11. The ratio of the rate of feed to the classifier to the rate of flow of coarse or fine material may be substituted for the primary control in dependence on the ratio of the rates of flow of coarse and fine material.
