Abstract

The application is mainly to high speed machine tool drives, where it is desirable to reduce time delays in the control circuit to a minimum. The elimination of a current regulating circuit helps this objective, and may be achieved by using direct and integrated speed feedback. The feedback signal from the tachogenerator and the reference are fed to a proportional amplifier with two output branches. One goes direct to a summing amplifier, and the other via an integrator, to the same amplifier, which in turn controls the rectifier gating circuits. The magnitude of the proportional amplifier feedback, and the integration time of the integrator are made inversely proportional to the speed control and/or reference value.
