Abstract

With a three-phase supply, the rectification is achieved by six diodes (1-5) whose outputs are connected to low-pass filters via the regulating thyristors or transistors. Output current (21) is measured as well as the output voltage (19). Both are fed to the regulator control (30). This control also receives a three-phase supply and, from this, three saturated amplifiers produce three square waveforms. These are integrated to form three triangular waveforms. A series of comparators, sensing the output current and voltage, provide clipping to select the peaks of the triangular waveforms and convert them to variable width pulses to control the thyristors. This system is economical and uses a simple control circuit.
