Abstract

1513356 Automatic speed control MITSUBISHI DENKI KK 3 May 1976 18008/76 Heading G3R [Also in Division G4] In a rectroactive speed control system for a thyristor fed induction motor, a non linear circuit is included in the control loop, the circuit generating an output that is approximately the square root of its input. As shown, the output of motor driven tachometer 24 is compared at 26 with a command speed from generator 28. Any difference is amplified and passes through the non linear circuit 36 to control the firing angle of thyristors 20a, b, c feeding three phase induction motor 18 which drives an elevator 10. The non linear circuit which may include an operational amplifier with diode-resistor feedback [see Division G4] can alternatively be inserted between the comparator 26 and amplifier 30, between the tachometer 24 and comparator 26 or between phase shifters 32a, b, c and the thyristors. The non linear circuit is used so as to keep the control loop gain constant.
