Abstract

949,258. Shop fittings &c. CHURCH & CO. (FITTINGS) Ltd. Dec. 4, 1962 [Dec. 8, 1961], No. 44039/61. Heading A4T. A pillar for supporting glass and like panels for shop counters comprises a square-section part 10 with a tapped hole 13 in the underside by means of which the part can be fixed by a bolt 14 passing through the counter 15 or through a plate screwed to the surface of the counter, two adjacent sides of the part 10 each having a pair of parallel outwardly extending longitudinal flanges 11, 11 forming channels 12, 12 to receive the edges of the panels. The pillar may alternatively have three or four channels and may be secured by a spring retainer passing through the counter.
