Panels 1 of an elevated or removable floor are located upon a basework, for example of intersecting T-sectioned girders 5, 6, or parallel inverted channel girders, Fig. 4 (not shown), by pin-like projections 9 fixed to the basework and engaging within recesses in the lower parts of the abutting edges of adjacent panels. The projections 9 may be neoprene capped grub screws or may be neoprene capped spot-welded pins. The basework may be supported by adjustable pillars 8.
