[Also in Divisions B3, E1 and E2] A constructional kit for constructing gates, screens, brackets, and items of furniture &c. includes two panels 12 each having a frame of strip-like material containing strip-like ornamentation 11 and clamping means dimensioned to interconnect the frames in closely-spaced adjacent position either in co-planar arrangement as in a gate construction, Fig. 2 (not shown) employing clamping means as described with reference to Figs. 7, 8 and 9 (not shown) or at an angle to form for example a corner bracket, Fig. 1, the clamping means in each case including a pair of facing plates having flanges which overlie major faces of strips forming the frames of the panels, and screw means, which hold the plates in clamping engagement with the frames. The clamping means of Fig. 5, which is of a kind claimed in Specification 1,187,397, divided out of the present application and which is for angled interconnection between panels, includes relatively inclined abutment surfaces provided on an abutment 16 against which the edges of the panels are drawn in clamping engagement. A further clamping means for connecting four panels in cruciform arrangement is shown in Fig. 6 in which abutment surfaces are provided on a separate central block 21.
