948,660. Needle threaders. G. E. SADLER. Aug. 8,1962 [Aug. 8, 1961], No. 28642/61. Heading D1G. A needle threader comprises a tubular needle holder closed at one end and having thereat a transverse bore positioned to be aligned with the eye of a needle inserted in the holder, a thread support adjacent the outer side of the needle holder beside said transverse bore, and an operating member which is pivotally mounted on a body portion and which has a portion protruding from the body portion and an arcuate arm adapted to move across said thread support and through said bore and the eye of the needle. A tubular needle holder 21 has a flared outer end 23 and a closed inner end. A bore 28, formed transversely in the holder adjacent the inner end, is positioned to be aligned with the eye 29 of a needle 24 inserted in the holder. A thread supported on a shoulder 31 adjacent the bore 28 is pushed through the latter and through the needle eye by an arcuate blade 27 carried on one arm 25 of a plate 18 pivoted at 19 within an upstanding post 14. Another arm 26 projects from the latter and carries a platform 32 which may be depressed to swing plate 18 against the bias of a spring 34.
