Abstract

948,116. Mould and core materials. ALUMINIUM LABORATORIES Ltd. June 15, 1962 [June 23, 1961], No. 23205/62. Drawings to Specification. Heading B3F. In a continuous casting operation of the kind wherein molten metal is introduced between two opposed continuously moving endless belts, the belts are coated with fibrous alumino-silicate. The material is applied as an aqueous suspension or paste which may include boron, borax, an organic resin and a surfactant. The coating may be applied over a priming layer of an organic resin, such as a polyvinyl butyral resin containing a metal chromate such as zinc chromate dispersed or suspended therein, and a minor amount of a silicone resin. Specifications 657,867, 688,575 and 837,473 are referred to.
