A groundsheet comprises a sheet 2 of material such as polyvinyl chloride having a raised rim around the edge provided by an inflatable tube 4 in two sections with inflating orifices 8 and formed by folding over the edge of the sheet and heat sealing it. In a modification the tube is formed separately and welded to the sheet. The tube may be of larger cross-section on one of the sides of the sheet to form a pillow.
