Abstract

978,348. Air cushions. G. MARCUS, D. FINEGOLD, and C. B. FINEGOLD. Jan. 12, 1961 [Oct. 19, 1960], No. 35897/60. Heading A4M. In an inflatable cushion formed by wielding two sheets of material such as polyvinyl chloride together, the inner ends of radial welds 45 are spread transversely. The welds 45 have divergent extensions 48 but in other forms (Figs. 1-3 and 5, not shown) a T-shaped end is produced. Buckling of the inflated cushion is reduced by providing notches 42a in peripheral weld 42.
