Abstract

946,640. Revaporization of liquefied gases. CONCH INTERNATIONAL METHANE Ltd. April 24, 1962, No. 15530/62. Heading F4P. [Also in Division F1] Liquefied gas such as methane or natural gas, which is to be gasified, is supplied under a higher pressure than the required delivery pressure, to a heat-exchanger 4 by a pump 2 and is vaporized in a second heat-exchanger 6. The gas is expanded to the desired delivery pressure in a turbine 9 and a part of the gas is delivered through a pipe 10. The remainder is further expanded in a second turbine 12 and passed to the heat-exchanger 4, where it acts as a heating fluid and is condensed. The condensate pressure is raised to that of the liquefied gas in the heat-exchanger and is added thereto. The heating fluid in the heatexchanger 6 may be ambient air, brine, sea or river water. A further heat-exchanger may be provided between the turbines.
