945,931. Bed-settees. FIR VIEW FURNITURE CO. Ltd. Nov. 7, 1962, No. 42129/62. Heading A4J. A bed-settee frame comprises a back frame member 10 hinged at 11 to the main portion of the frame for movement about a horizontal axis between a raised position and a lowered position and a strut 15 pivotally mounted on the member 10 for movement about a horizontal axis 16 and arranged to engage with a fixed frame member 5 at a point spaced rearwardly from the hinge 11 when the member 10 is in the raised position and to rest on the ground in such a way that the strut 15 is substantially vertical, when the member 10 is in the lowered position. Each strut 15 has at its lower end a downwardly facing angle member catch 18 in which the fixed member 5 can fit. A jointed stay 20 is pivotally attached at its respective ends to the movable member 10 and the stay 15 and is arranged to be fully extended when the member 10 is in the lowered position. Joints 21 in the stays 20 may be provided with friction faces pressed together by manually adjustable screw and nut means.
