Abstract
944,589. Vehicle lighting control systems; electromagnetic relays. M. FUKAMI, and A. GORTCHACOW. April 14, 1960 [March 7, 1960], No. 13478/60. Headings H2B and H2H. [Also in Division G4] In a motor vehicle lighting installation, a switch is provided whereby a reduced voltage is automatically applied to signalling lamps when the driving lamps are illuminated. As shown, when switch 2<SP>1</SP> is open the driving lamps 3 are disconnected from the battery 1, and if switches 7 or 8 are then closed full voltage is applied to signalling lamps 4, 5 or 6 over the left-hand contacts of an electromagnetically-operated switch 2. When the switch 2<SP>1</SP> is closed, the lamps 3 are illuminated and a solenoid 28 is momentarily energized whereby a lever 24 is rocked to a second position (Fig. 2, not shown), so that movable contacts carried by the lever 24 co-operate with the right hand contacts of switch 2 to put resistors 9, 91 in circuit with the lamps 4, 5 and 6, whereby a reduced voltage is applied to these lamps when switches 7 and 8 are operated. When switch 2<SP>1</SP> is re-opened, a second solenoid 30 is momentarily energized and lever 24 is returned to its first position.
