944,026. Laminates. POLYMARK Ltd. Dec. 30, 1959 [Jan. 2, 1959; June 9, 1959], Nos. 44223/59 and 44224/59. Divided out of 944,025. Heading B5N. [Also in Divisions B8 and D1] A fabric for labels or interlinings is woven from groups of the three thin non-thermoplastic warp yarns 41-44 alternating with thick thermoplastic yarns 51-54 in a twill weave such that each pick of weft 6 passes under a thermoplastic yarn 53 masked by non-thermoplastic yarns 42, 43 and over a non-thermoplastic group 41 flanked by exposed thermoplastic yarns 51, 52. The fabric is woven with the weft tension lower than the warp tension. The thermoplastic yarns may be flat monofils or low-twist continuous filament yarns of polyvinyl chloride, copolymer of vinylidene chloride with vinyl chloride or acrylonitrile, or may be nylon 11. The other yarns may be cotton. When used as an interlining, the fabric may be given a stiffening treatment before laminating it with another fabric on one or both sides by means of heat and pressure.
