Abstract

943,602. Fitting window frames in apertures. INTERNATIONALE BOUW-SPECIALITEITEN N.V. March 15, 1960, No. 14021/62. Divided out of 943,601. Heading E1J. A window frame 7 is affixed in an aperture in a wall by a wedge 4 actuable as by nut 4 on a lug 2 anchored in the jamb 1, so tend to displace the frame 7 inwardly of the aperture. The jamb may be rebated as shown in Fig. 1 or a rebate frame 13, Fig. 2 having a shank 15 projecting from the aperture and abutting the jamb 1 may be secured to the wall by a screw 20 passing into a nut 19 through the eyelet 18 of a lug 17 secured in the jamb. The frame 7 is secured in the same manner as in Fig. 1 abutting against the rebate frame 13. Resilient material 10 is interposed as shown in Figs. 1 and 2. In a modification the window frame and rebate frame may be in one unit and the screws 2<SP>1</SP> and 20 of Fig. 2 are then combined the shank passing through and being secured to the wedge 4 and having a hooked end to engage over the inturned end of shank 15, the wedge 4 then co-operating with an inclined surface of a transverse member which abuts interior projections on the frame.
