Abstract

943,601. Fitting window frames in apertures. INTERNATIONALE BOUW-SPECIALITEITEN N.V. March 15, 1960, No. 9174/60. Addition to 943,602. Heading E1J. A window frame 7 with a glazed sash 9 is affixed in a window aperture by fixing a hollow rebate frame 13 in the aperture by means of transverse spaced filler members 28 traversed by tensioning rods 27 which are engaged by the hooked ends of bolts 17 anchored by eye bolts 17 in the window aperture opposite the spaces between the members 28 and then by means of wedges 4 actuated by bolts 20<SP>1</SP> with their hooked ends engaging over the rods 27 and tightened by nuts 3 displacing the frame 7 inwardly of the aperture and against the abutment surface 8 of the rebate frame 13. The members 28 at each corner of the rebate frame are L-shaped with tension rods tending to draw the members of opposite corners together. Each filler member is provided with intercommunicating passages and surface grooves to allow adhesive inserted at a given point to travel throughout and enable the member to make maximum contact with the interior of the rebate frame.
