Abstract

942,882. Stoppers. POPPE RUBBER & TYRE CO. Ltd. July 18, 1962 [July 18, 1961], No. 25979/61. Heading B8T. A bottle stopper moulded from a synthetic plastics material comprises a hollow, outer shell 1 having an inwardly directed shoulder 4, and a cap in the form of a disc 7 provided with a depending skirt 9, the lower edge of which engages beneath the shoulder 4 by means of a series of outward projections 10. The skirt 9 is axially slotted at 11 between each pair of projections 10. The outer periphery of the disc 7 is either a push fit on to a shoulder 6 of the upper part of the outer shell 1 or it may be secured by cement. The outer shell 1 is moulded from polypropylene, while the cap may be made of polystyrene.
