[Also in Division F1] A combined radiant and forced air heater comprises a cross-flow fan which draws air through a filter 10 and discharges it over a heating element 13, whereby the air passes over a backing plate 2 of a radiant heating element 9. A thermostat 14 is incorporated. In the embodiment of Fig. 2 the cross-flow fan 31 draws air in through slots 33 and discharges it over the rear of the plate 23 through slots 34. A flap 28 may be moved to direct air from the fan over a radiant heating element 25. In a further embodiment a cross-flow fan draws air in a tortuous path through a filter and over a heater consisting of hot water pipes which also heat a plate providing a radiant surface. A flap controls the flow of air over the heater. Specifications 757,543, 876,611 and 876,612 are referred to.
