[Also in Division B8] The body of a railway wagon is divided transversely into two or more parts movable apart longitudinally and each rotatable about a vertical axis into a position transverse of the wagon. A wagon having an underframe 7 has two parts 1, 2 with open ends 3. Each part is mounted on a turntable 4 of an intermediate frame 5 and on sliding the parts longitudinally from position I to position II wheels 6 ride up lugs 8 enabling the parts to be rotated to position III for loading transversely of the wagon through the open ends 3. A portal 10 secures the parts in their normal position with the open end securely closed. In a modification the body parts and turntables are mounted on telescopic tubes moving within a fixed tube for longitudinal movement.
