940,824. Hand trucks. A. HUSBY, N. H. HUSBY, and H. HUSBY, [trading as ANTON HUSBY & SONNER]. March 21, 1962 [March 22, 1961], No. 10868/62. Heading B7B. A hand truck has inturned feet 5 for supporting a drum 1 and a hook member 11 pivoted to the handle 4 for tilting the drum to enable the feet 5 to be inserted under the drum. The possibility of the feet 5 snapping over on to the top of the rim 6 during such tilting is prevented by a stop 9 which does not allow the truck to run under the load until the requisite degree of tilt is achieved. Subsequent dropping of the handles 4 will release the ground-engaging catch 12 thereby allowing the lever 7 to pivot counter clockwise.
