Abstract
638,400. Hand trucks. MARTIN, L. March 11, 1948, No. 7487. [Class 108 (i)] A truck for handling and up-ending drums &c. comprises a wheeled axle to which is secured the handle 11, a pair of spaced arms 13 mounted on the axle and extending substantially at right-angles to the handle 11, and extension pieces 14 having a limited pivotal movement with respect to the arms 13. In use the truck is wheeled up to the end of the drum until the member 18 contacts the drum. The handle 11 is then swung backwards so that the inwardly projecting parts 16 engage the drum, thus tilting it until the inwardly projecting parts 17 on the extensions 14 engage the drum, thus reducing the leverage.
