Abstract

649,799. Hand trucks. PERKINS & SEWARD, Ltd., and WILLIAMS, H. H. Nov. 17, 1948, Nos. 29855/48 and 20478/49. [Class 108(i)] A hand truck for transporting bins &c. having a bottom rim comprises a tubular part 7 which forms a bearing for the axle 8, and a downwardly and forwardly extending web 10 at the lower end of which is a platform 11. The platform 11 is provided with a number of lugs 12 against which the bottom rim of the bin is located (Fig. 2) and a slidable hook member 15 mounted on the handle 14 can be adjusted to engage the top rim of the bin. The truck may also be used for carrying packages by swinging down the platform 21 which is pivotally supported from the axle 8 by side plates 19 and which lies against the handle 14 when bins are being carried.
