Abstract

497,328. Hand - trucks. EYRE, E. June 14, 1937, No. 16412. [Class 108 (i)] A transporting device for moving bins, sacks, packages, &c. comprises a pole-handle 3, preferably tubular, secured, e.g. welded at its lower end to a two-wheel axle 1, a bent strip-metal cradle member 5, preferably shaped to conform with the periphery of a bin, fixed in the plane of the axle, e.g. welded to the axle or to the pole 3 and tie - bars 4 connecting the pole and axle, and a hook member 7 fixed to or adjustably mounted on the pole 3 for engagement with a handle, loop, &c. on the bin &c. A grid or ledge may be provided on the opposite side of the pole to the cradle 5 for transporting sacks &c. which may be held in position by passing a rope or the like around the sack and pole. A wheel brake or brakes, or a brake in the form of a ground-engaging slipper, may be provided, operated by known means through the tubular pole. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 8379/88, [Class 108].
