Abstract

667,386. Hand trucks. STEVENS, C. C. Feb. 15, 1950 [March 19, 1949], No. 7510/49. Class 108(i). A hand truck comprises a toe plate 4 pivoted at 4a to the handles 2. The toeplate is set in the position shown dotted by the engagement of a bar 5 with a notch 4e in a plate 4c carried by the toeplate heel 4b. The toe-plate is then run under the load, the bar 5 released against the action of a spring 10 by a handle 9d, the handles. 2 pivoted to the position shown in which the wheels 3 are clear of the ground and the member released to engage a further, notch 4d in the plate 4e. The loaded truck may then be pivoted about the heel of the toe-plate preparatory to wheeling it away.
