[Also in Division F4] In an installation for smoking rubber, batches of rubber are fed on trolleys running on rails 2 into a plurntity of smokehouses 1 each having a duct 3 passing beneath the floor thereof so that hot drying air and smoke pass through the duct into the associated smokehouse via spaced openings in the floor and out via spaced openings 6 in the ceiling to a roof duct 7. Each tunnel has a smoke generator 15 and induction pipes 16 and an individual heater unit and fan which draws smoke and air from the roof duct 7, though a portion of fresh air may be introduced into the duct through dampers (not shown), or two or more smokehouses may have a common heater unit and fan.
