Abstract

939,969. Boxes. MARDON, SON & HALL Ltd. Feb. 7, 1962 [Feb. 7, 1961], No. 4476/61. Class 18. A cardboard box or box lid in which the sides 2, 4 are bent up from a central base or top 1 has two opposite corner edges radiussed as at 30, 31 by adhesively securing to the wall a panel 28 with a curved edge 41 whereby on bending up the sides a rounded corner is formed, the radius of curvature of which decreases from the centre to the two ends. The usual score line between these walls and the base or top is omitted. As shown the panel 28 is formed from a extension of the side wall bent over inwardly and stuck to the wall. Straight portions 39, 40 are provided at the ends of the curved edge 41 to avoid passing a pointed blank through the glueing machine. A separate sheet of cardboard with curved edges at 47 and curved score lines 48 may be glued inside the central panel.
