Abstract

938,829. Tube fittings. IMPERIAL-EASTMAN CORPORATION. Oct. 18, 1961 [Oct. 24, 1960], No. 37339/61. Class 99(1). A fitting for use with a soft tubing T comprises a body 11 having a bore with a frusto-conical end portion 21, a nut 13 having an inturned rigid annular flange 28, and a tubular sleeve 14 of resilient material, e.g. plastic having an outwardly enlarged mid-portion 36 and an outwardly enlarged end portion 33 and which slidably engages the inner surface of the nut flange 28 to allow relative rotation thereof. On threaded advance of the nut 13 on the body 11 the frusto-conical portion 21 constricts the inner end of the sleeve 14 into sealing and gripping engagement with the tubing T.
