Abstract
938,342. Photo-electric cells. ERICSSON TELEPHONES Ltd. Jan. 31, 1962 [March 10, 1961], No. 8955/61. Class 37. A photo-electric cell is coated with silicone rubber or mounted in a housing sealed off by a silicone rubber member. In one embodiment a photo-electric cell consisting of a glass substrate 10 (Fig. 1), a layer 11 of cadmium sulphide or selenide, and evaporated tin electrodes 12 provided with two contacts 13, is housed in the two part casing shown. The base of part 1 is filled with a curable liquid silicone resin and part 2 slid into it. On curing the resin seals off the leads and the gap between the casing parts. In an alternative arrangement, Fig. 2, the cell is coated with silicone rubber and then encased in epoxy resin 14. Specifications 820,547 and 896,728 are referred to.
