Abstract

1406487 Terminals RIC CAPACITORS Ltd 31 Jan 1973 [10 Feb 1972 (2)] 6167/72 and 6168/72 Heading H2E An Al container 118 containing a capacitor 116 is closed by an insulating disc 20 (Fig. 1) or 122 (Fig. 5) carrying terminals 14 or 112. A cover 18 or 120, formed separately from the disc 20 or 122, is fitted over the terminals. The cover 18 or 120 has holes 16 or 120a for wires. The terminals 112 are fixed by eyelets 126 or rivets (not shown). Resilient rings 124, 128 may act as seals, or the upper surface of the disc 122 may be covered with a rubber layer (not shown). The cover 120 is glued or welded in place. In the embodiment of Fig. 1 the container is not sealed, the terminals 14 are fixed in slots 28 by resilient tongues 26, projections 30 on the disc 20 prevent excessive bending, and the cover 18 is fixed in place by resilient latches (18a, Fig. 4, not shown). The cover 18 or 120 has holes 18b (or 120b, Fig. 6, not shown) for a screwdriver for releasing the wires from the terminals. Wires from the capacitor 116 are soldered to the terminals or to the eyelets 126 or rivets.
