[Also in Groups IX, XXIV and XXXVIII] The hub 28 of a spool 1 is retained on a support 1 by portions 12 on levers 10 pivotally mounted on a ring 11. The levers 10 are retained in the position shown by a spring 17 engaging a ring 19 having a flange 21 slotted to receive the levers 10. The levers 10 are rocked to release the spool by a knob 25 retained by a cap 23. Ejecting portions 13 on the levers 10 move the spool &c. axially during such rocking. Keys on the spool engage channels 27, Fig. 1 (not shown), to lock the spool rotationally on the support 1.
