907,538. Spindle brakes. ETABLISSEMENTS PAIN-BOURGEAS, S.a.r.L. April 15, 1959 [Feb. 20, 1959], No. 12755/59. Class 103 (1). Brake blocks 2, slidable in slots 3 in a fixed member 4, are moved radially inward to brake a spindle 1, 5 by cams 18 on a ring 14 rotated by a lever 15 extending through a slot 16 in member 4 which is fixed to a stationary part 6 by screws 7; the blocks 2 are biased to the release position by springs 11 and slots 19 in ring 14 co-operate with screws 7 to limit movement of the ring, the cams 18 being such as to maintain the brake applied. The blocks may be applied by springs and released by cams.
