[Also in Divisions G2 and G5] A mounting and driving device for spools comprises a drum 12 secured to a rotatably driven shaft 11, the spool, not shown, being retained in position on the drum 12 by clamping members 14 located in slots in the drum. Each. clamping member 14 has.one or more driving dogs 16 for engagement with slot in the spool and is urged into clamping position by a spring 17. A push-button 18 carries rollers 19 for engagement with cam surfaces 20 on the members 17, such that inward depression of the button rocks the members 14 outwardly to disengage the spool. Further depression causes button 18 to engage the ends 23 of spool release levers 21 which rock about pivots 22 to displace the spool away from flange 25.
