Abstract

860,838. Tape spools. DECCA RECORD CO. Ltd. Nov. 25, 1959 [Nov. 21, 1958], No. 37599/58. Class 120(3) A double-flanged spool for holding tapes comprises a clip 13, fitted to one flange, for gripping the end of the tape on, or adjacent, or within a recess in the surface of the drum. The clip comprises a member 14, pivotally mounted (at 15) about an axis at right angles to the spool axis, and at a tangent to the drum surface, and spring-urged to lie against the surface of the drum. Latch 25 holds member 14, against the spring force, away from the drum surface when a push button 17 is depressed. In order to disengage the latch 25 from the shoulders of push button 17, a push button 29 is depressed whereupon a spring 21 moves the arm of the member 14 into a position securing the tape to the spool.
