Abstract

1327865 Reel case DATA PACKAGING CORP 19 April 1971 [28 May 1970] 25965/71 Heading B8P [Also in Division E2] A reel case comprises separable cover and lower parts 10, 12, the lower part 12 including a latching post 34 having an annular flange 36, and the cover part including an integral latching member 60 pivotally mounted between two handle walls 50 which extend across a circular depression 20 formed in the central region of the cover part 12. The latching member comprises a catch 78 which is biased by a leaf spring 72 and a further spring 86 into the position illustrated when the parts are latched together, a lug 82 in the catch 78 engaging the undersurface 38 of the flange 36. The springs 72, 86 are integral with the latching member. The latching member further comprises an arm 62 having integral pivot pins 64 and a button portion 24 projecting through a hole 68 in a cover 70 extending between the handle walls 50. Once the catch 78 has been disengaged from the flange by finger pressure on the button portion 24, the case parts are urged apart by the spring 86.
