936,117. Photographic processes. ETABLISSEMENTS BAUCHET & CIE. Oct. 13, 1959 [Oct. 14, 1958], No. 34686/59. Class 98 (2). An exposed and developed photographic silver halide emulsion is fixed with a solution comprising a complexing agent for silver halide and a desensitizing agent which is a mercuric salt or an organic desensitizer. The complexing agent may be ammonium thiocyanate, and the desensitizer may be mercuric chloride, rubeanic acid, picric acid or chrysoidine. The solutions may contain also borax and isopropyl alcohol. The process of the invention eliminates the usual washing step and enables less complexing agent to be used.
