935,690. Pit props. GUTEHOFFNUNG SHUTTE STERKRADE A.G. Dec. 7, 1959 [Dec. 6, 1958], No. 41539/59. Class 20 (2). A telescopic pit prop is provided with a head comprising a tube 6 enclosing the top of the upper part 1 of the prop and a guide 8 welded to the part 1 for a wedge 7 which projects at both sides through apertures in the tube 6 and the ends of which have stops to engage the tube. The wedge is adapted to raise the head against the mine roof and the wedge and guide have interengaging ribs and grooves 11, 13 which prevent vertical movement of the wedge.
