Abstract

934,543. Pockets. FOX BROS. CLOTHES Ltd. March 19, 1962, No. 10454/62. Class 141. A garment pocket is formed by fusing a lining 1 to the material 2 of a garment panel, attaching pocket pieces 4, 5 made of the garment material to the front of the panel by seams 6, 7, respectively, making a horizontal slit 15 between the seams, clipping the ends of the slit at 21 to the ends of the seam 7 and passing the piece 5 to which is attached a pocket piece 12 made of lining material, through the slit to the rear of the panel. A stiffening 14 is also attached by seam 6 and a pocket lining 8 is attached to the part 4. The parts 4, 14, 8 are folded as in Fig. 4 to form a welt and stitched at 19, the seam 19 being the same length as the slit 15, and the ends of the slit 15 are clipped at 22 down to the end of the seam 19, the corners of the welt trimmed at 20 and the part 8 passed through the slit 15. The end tongues of the welt are turned under, stitched to the materials 1, 2 and trimmed, and the parts 8, 12 seamed together round three sides to form the pocket bag.
