931,622. Shuttering for casting bridges &c. STRABAG BAU A.G., and KLOCKNERHUMBOLDT-DEUTZ A.G. March 11, 1960, No. 8649/60. Class 20 (2). [Also in Group XXXI] Shuttering 12, 12<SP>1</SP> for casting concrete bridges &c. 8 on previously erected sets of piers 4-7 is carried on girders 2, 2<SP>1</SP> carried by supporting frames 3 movable along a girder 1 movable along a cast part of the bridge on rollers 9 so as to project over the space where the next section of the bridge is to be cast. The outer end of the girder is supported on the next following piers, e.g. 7. When the girders 2, 2<SP>1</SP> and shuttering has been moved to the new casting position they are supported by jacks 14 on girders 15 fixed across the piers e.g. 6, 7 and the girders 1 may be removed for use elsewhere. The frames 3 are mounted on carriages 10 connected together and moved by means of a cable. The girder 1 consists of two I-beams connected by bars 16<SP>1</SP> and between which runs a conveyer for concrete. In order that the girder 1 can be moved laterally for casting a parallel part of the bridge or along a curve of a road it may be mounted on trolleys by means of annular bearings so that the trolleys are turnable about a vertical axis. A trolley for supporting the middle of the girder may have six or eight pairs of wheels 33-38, Fig. 11, the wheels of each pair being connected by differential gearing and the pairs being movable to different angles, e.g. as shown in Fig. 11, to allow the trolleys to be turned in a horizontal plane through, for example, 90 degrees, the wheels being then turned to their original direction to allow lateral movement of the girder. The wheel pairs are mounted on forks 46, Fig. 7, pivoted at one end 44 and supported by an hydraulic cylinder 48 at the other end which allows the wheel to be adjusted in height for road camber &c. In a modification the girder and trolleys are lifted by a jack so that the trolleys can be turned or individual wheels may be lifted so as to be turned.
