Abstract
930,360. Nuclear power plant. ROLLSROYCE Ltd. Feb. 1, 1962, No. 3971/62. Class 39 (4). [Also in Group XIII] In a nuclear reactor 10 in which steam is used as a coolant the superheated steam is led both to a point of use 12 and to a steam generator 17 in which it is used to re-evaporate condensate fed from the point of use 12. The regenerated steam is used in a turbo-compressor 22 to recompress the fraction of the superheated steam used as a heating medium in the steam generator. The turbine and compressor exhaust through a common line 24 into the cooling circuit of the nuclear reactor 10. The point of use may be a heat-exchanger generating steam for supply to one or more turbines through the line 13 or may alternatively be the turbines themselves.
