Abstract

A prefabricated sleeve for lining a head box for a foundry mould is made of a refractory composition such that it is capable of being slightly deformed under pressure without fracturing. A particular composition consists of silica 88%, asbestos 1%, paper pulp 5,5% and liquid urea formaldehyde resin 5,5%.
