Abstract

929,151. Winding toroidal cores. TESLA NARODNI PODNIK. May 2, 1961 [May 2, 1960], No. 15848/61. Class 83 (4). Apparatus for winding wire in layers on a sector of a toroidal core includes means for reversing the rotation of a core carrier at positions corresponding to the ends of the layers. Wire from a carrier 13, rotated through a core 11 on a rotated carrier 15, is wound on the core until an arm 18, driven from the carrier 15, engages the appropriate contact on a disc 16. Whereupon relay means is actuated to disengage an electromagnetic clutch 28 in a drive means 27 to the wire carrier 13 and core carrier 15 and to engage a brake 26. A clutch 22 then disengages the drive from the means 27 to core carrier drive means 20 and engages a reverse drive from means 33 to the core carrier 15. The carrier 15 thus moves in a reverse direction, no winding of the wire taking place, until the arm 18 engages another contact on the disc 16 to cause the reverse movement to stop. The drive 27 then rotates the core carrier 15 and wire carrier 13 to wind the next layer. A hook member 14 moves the wire coming from the carrier 13 to a position at the start of the winding of the layer just before winding of the layer commences. Means for counting the number of turns of wire wound is provided. Two motors may be provided, one for the means 27 and one for the means 33.
